MATCH DAY 4 - The Final

The finals were held on the 17th of March 2005 much to my inconvenience. Reason being I had a midterm paper at 8 and the game would only end around 7.45. I was contemplating on taking MC but then why the extra trouble and I’ll be piling up more misery on myself.

I went for the game.

Reached there at 5.40 and after doing head counts, I realize there was only 11 players. That makes a team. This would mean I could slot in the midfield. How wrong I was. Only had the referee started 2 minutes earlier I would have been on the field. The STARS arrived soon after and the team was shuffled again. I was BENCHED!

“I want to shift clubs. My contract is not worth a single cent. I’m not happy to be benched.”!

HALF TIME

We led with the only shot on target and defended. We let in a free kick in the dying minutes and the game was forced into penalties. We lost (4 -3).By then I was back home, bathing and rushing for my exams. I never got to see the penalties taken. I was too busy thinking about me being late for my paper.

We finished second again and we LOST to FOM again in the finals. I guess the better team won. They were attacking and played better football than us. Next time, someday we will beat them in a FINAL.
